With new activities, business, tours, classes, and more, Eastern Manitoba is a thriving and ever-growing region with exciting adventures around every corner.

BackPorch Jam Series (Grunthal)

Created and run by the Hanover Ag Society, you can enjoy toe-tapping music through this drive-in event series. Throughout June, enjoy the soulful country music live while being safe in your vehicle. Their new permanent stage, the Fairway Ford Mainstage, will be featuring the musical talents of:

Daniel Desorcy and Jason Kirkness (June 10) – Daniel Desorcy is a French Metis singer-songwriter from La Broquerie, Manitoba. Daniel’s soulful tenor voice and prolific writing skills have garnered him a secure place within the country music genre.

A veteran of the Canadian music scene, Jason Kirkness is undoubtedly one of the most well-known names in the prairies. Kirkness has shared the stage with Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, The Road Hammers and many more.

The Jake Brakes with Frannie Klein (June 17) – Jake Brakes have been performing country and western classics in Manitoba for over a decade. The band pays tribute to some of their favourite artists, including Junior Brown, Waylon Jennings, Earnest Tubb, and Andrew Neville.

Joined by Frannie Klein, with such musical knowledge on Country Classics such as Loretta Lynn, Kitty Wells, Emmylou Harris any many more, staying strong to the country roots. Over the course of the last few years, she has travelled back and forth to Nashville, Tennessee writing songs and having the pleasure of playing down broadway.

Don Amero (June 24) – With the release of his 2018 album, EVOLUTION, Don Amero (MDM Recordings Inc./Universal Music Canada) stepped into the mainstream country music genre with brand new material that he considers his strongest yet. An engaging storyteller, singer/songwriter and performer who has been touring, performing and speaking all across Canada for the last ten years, the three-time JUNO nominee has earned respect and has proven himself a much sought-after performer who is able to genuinely connect with his audience with an easy and effortless charm. A national and international award winner, Don impresses wherever he goes with his messages of encouragement, positivity, and beauty – music is medicine.

Emerson Golf Course Features New Restaurant (Emerson)

Have you heard the news? Emerson Golf Course has a whole new restaurant experience with The Poutine King!

Whether you’re looking for a bite to eat after a game of 9-hole golf or just looking for mouthwatering, sinfully good food, you can’t miss out on this menu. Enjoy tasty appetizers like deep-fried cheese curds, BBQ pork ribs, buffalo veggie wing for the perfect start to your meal. Enjoy the classics like Caesar or Greek salad or a variety of pizza options. And the featured item that cannot be passed up is their poutines! Go with your favourites or try the extremes! The Cowboy is topped with pulled pork and garnished with dusted onions. The All Vegan features fresh-cut fries, vegan mozzarella, vegan gravy, topped with spinach, mushrooms, caramelized onion and garnished with green onions. Or, for those party-goers, The Hangover is just what you need! Topped with ground beef, bacon, mushrooms, caramelized onions, a fried egg, and garnished with a drizzle of hot sauce.

Nature’s Edge Tourism is Starting up Their Lessons

Nature’s Edge Tourism is gearing up for the summer! If you a SUP expert or have never been on a paddleboard before, everybody of every skill set can enjoy their fabulous tours, lessons, and experiences! Here’s what they have coming up:

Introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding (June 15, 22, and 29) – For ages eight and up and all abilities, you can learn the basics of Stand Up Paddleboarding to get you up and on the water with ease. Relax and refresh along the waters in St. Malo Provincial Park. All gear is provided, but you are welcomed to bring your own board if you have one.

Life is Rosé SUP & Cidery Tour (June 27) – Learn the basics of Stand Up Paddleboarding, relax and paddle beautiful Lake Minnewasta and finish with an exclusive farm tour of Dead Horse Cidery with crushed and crafted samples. Gear is provided.

Voyageur Houseboats (Pinawa)

Coming in the summer of 2022 is Voyageur Houseboats! This stay-and-play experience is perfect for nature lovers. Rent a four-person, 28-foot houseboat for an overnight stay on the Winnipeg River within Whiteshell Provincial Park. Their experienced captains will moor your floating accommodation in a scenic, sheltered mooring location. After settling in, you’ll be able to explore the rugged scenery with the canoes and kayaks provided by Voyageur Houseboats.
