Museums
With 17 museums in Eastern Manitoba, there's no shortage of learning about Manitoba's most recent history. You'll discover museums dedicated to the pioneer era, culture, the industrial era and some that are out of the ordinary. Museums are just starting to dig deeper into the roots that represent indigenous history, with artifacts dating back over 10,000 years. This step is a result of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action #67. As you wonder through history, visit the many communities and stop for an ice cream or set up a picnic on the museum grounds. Check for geocaches, learn from historians, and explore the many artifacts with family and friends.
