We sure hope that you are ready for one busy week in Eastern Manitoba! Enjoy a cozy family day picking pumpkins and visiting with princesses, take in great food at a fall supper and dance or a bud, spud and steak night. Get ready for winter sledding by attending a vintage sled show, or sneak in one more golf tournament for the season . . . the choice is yours.
Driving out to a pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin is a cozy way to spend an autumn day with your family, but what’s even better is spending the day picking the perfect pumpkin at Mama’s pick a pumpkin patch with princesses! This is a family friendly event, with free kids’ activities, face painting, kids craft table, games, displays, and so much more. You can even visit with Midnight and Apatchy, the farm goats, and Thunder, the mini horse.
In rural Manitoba, nothing beats a night out at a local community Bud, Spud and Steak Night to support local community groups. This night is in support of Haystack Productions, a local community theatre group that is entering its 25th year and producing its 50th production. In most cases, heading out for the meal alone should be enough to encourage you to go, but this Bud, Spud, and Steak Night will feature some amazing entertainment by Don Zueff, Al Simmons, Tracey K, and Jamie Steinhoff!
Fall Suppers are a bit of a tradition here in Manitoba, but the BBQ Pulled Pork Fall Supper and Dance, will be a little less traditional than most. Sure, you’re still going to get the great meal you’ve come to expect at a Fall Supper, and you’re still going to enjoy the great community spirit and charm that oozes from the rafters, but you’re also going to get an Ole Time Country Dance! Get ready to get those toes tapping for a full evening of entertainment with Boots Randolph.
Head on out for Louis’s Fall Challenge and sneak in, what is quite possibly the last golf tournament you’ll find in Eastern Manitoba this season. There will be cash prizes and a Fall Turkey Dinner to top off a great day of golf.
Last week we brought you an article about the great trails to hit up in Eastern Manitoba this fall. This week, join the group, Pinawa Friends of the Trans Canada Trail as they visit one of those trails. Get out and explore the Lac du Bonnet Trout Ponds and Blueberry Rock and discover the picturesque beauty on these sections of the Trans Canada Trail. Peter Taylor will lead the 5 Km round trip hike, with an optional late breakfast or early lunch stop at Drifters. All those wishing to participate should meet at the Pinawa Mall parking lot to form car pools at 9:30am.
Through partnerships great things happen. Join the Beausejour Farmer’s Market and the Pioneer Village Museum for a big day planned for you that covers everything from soup to nuts to corn. Are you a foodie? A craft collector? Then the Farmer’s Market is for you. Are you a sledneck waiting for the snow to fall? Then the Pioneer Village Museum Vintage Snowmobile Show and Swap is the place to be. There will be a corn maze, a pancake breakfast, concession stand, and picnic area open all day as well.
