Huge Succulent Plant Sale

June 15
Jacobs Trading – Beausejour

Jacobs Trading is thrilled to be hosting this amazing Succulent Plant Sale at their Beausejour location on June 15th and 16th! Head on over to learn all about Succulent plants and Cactus. Browse the display of plugs and potted plants. The selection will be incredible, and everything will be for sale! Plus, you can participate in an amazing Make & Take Class for those that want to plant their very own Succulent Terrarium right on site! Plants, soil, dish and crystals provided in the very reasonable price of just $15 – $30 (depending on the size of container and number of plants)! Bring the kids and learn all about these super cool creations of Mother Nature! Or if you prefer, you can purchase the succulents separately and plant them at home in your own containers. Succulent soil and drainage stone will be available as well! 

Summer in the City

June 15 to 17
Main Street – Steinbach

Summer in the City is Steinbach's premiere festival featuring local arts and entertainment. Watch as Main Street transforms into a fair-like setting including a Midway, children’s activities, skateboard, sporting demos and much more. In the center of it all, the main stage will host local performers, and emerging cultural entertainers all day long. As the sun begins to set you’ll see the main stage transform into a concert ground where musicians, such as Terri Clark, Honeymoon Suite, and Manic Drive rock our beautiful city. There is a flurry of visual creativity as artists display their works and demonstrate their talents. Hit Main Street and shop! Vendors from southeast Manitoba and around the world set up shop for you to peruse! Relax and soak up the festive summer atmosphere in one of the sunny full-service food and beverage patios. Traditional and cultural food vendors offer some of their famous and delicious tastings throughout the festival.

Go Wild – Edible & Useful Plants

June 16
Cityfolk Farm – Grand Beach

Join Laura Reeves, of Prairie Shore Botanicals, to Go Wild for a day out at Cityfolk Farm on June 16. Learn to ID edible and otherwise useful plants. Gather ’round for a lunch feast, featuring some wild edible teas, garnishes and more that we harvest from the land together! Enjoy a wild plant walk, learn to connect with plants on a personal level, gain confidence with harvesting, become an ethical wildcrafter and learn to dry, store and use the plants you harvest.

Tipi Raising

June 16
Lac du Bonnet & District Museum – Lac du Bonnet

It takes a community to raise a tipi! Join the Lac du Bonnet & District Historical Society at the museum to raise their newly painted tipi. Learn the steps of setting up a tipi from Tipi Joe. Watch the Lac du Bonnet Senior School art students as they hang up their painted lining, a project they have been working on with teachers Amy Usackis and Becky  Reynolds. Bannock and lemonade will be served. 

Discovery Day

June 16
Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail – Scanterbury

Please join us for Discovery Day to discover the hidden gems of the Brokenhead Wetland Interpretive Trail. Learn about aboriginal medicinal plants and culture along with our wild orchids and insect-eating plants while supporting this local initiative. The trail is wheelchair and stroller friendly (no bikes, dogs, or ATVs allowed). Amenities include washrooms, picnic tables, and handicap parking.

Admission includes lunch and a guided tour.
