#2 Watch the Time Fly by at the Sundial

The Pinawa Heritage Sundial is a horizontal dial stretching 10 metres square, with a gnomon 5 metres high, and is designed specifically for the latitude and longitude of the site, incorporating 12 heritage icons depicting the Eastman region, themes of the First Peoples, La Vérendrye, the fur trade, the development of hydroelectric power, industry, research, as well as others. The structure teaches visitors how one of the world’s oldest timepieces is used to tell time.

#3 Dare to Cross the Pinawa Suspension Bridge

Located off the Alice Chambers Trail, the Pinawa Suspension Bridge is 54 metres long and 1 metre wide that was built by a group of volunteers and completed in the fall of 1998. Even if you’re not adventurous enough to cross the bridge, it is still quite the sight to see.

#4 Surround Yourself with Arts and Culture

Pinawa is the proud home of talented musicians, artists and woodcrafters who display their talented works of art all around the community. From the dedicated display space at the Pinawa Art Gallery 211 to the beautiful murals at the Sunova Mall that capture the joys of life in the past, present and future of Pinawa.

Enjoying finding art all over the community as local carvers have created special pieces near the Pinawa Mall and the Pinawa LGD Office, as well as a few surprises, especially hidden in the trees, along the Ironwood Trail.

Once a well kept local secret, the Pinawa Channel Float has been generating World Wide attention for the past several years. This is a definite bucket list item that we bet you’ll want to do more than once in your lifetime.

Bring a tube from home, or rent a tube while you’re in Pinawa and set yourself afloat along the calm waters of the Pinawa Channel enjoying the sights and sounds of nature as you go.
