Do you want to give your child a new and exciting experience, but just can’t decide what they should do? Don’t worry! We have you covered. The Eastman Region has plenty of events and activities geared towards kids. Take a look and pick which one (or all five) activities your little kiddo will love!

The Paper Bag Princess Pajama Party Afternoon

March 15 – Dawson Trail School – Tache

Show your kids the magic of theatre! The whole family will love Robert Munsch story, The Paper Bag Princess, come alive on stage.

The Princess Elizabeth is slated to marry Prince Ronald when a dragon attacks the castle and kidnaps Ronald. In resourceful and humorous fashion, Elizabeth works to rescue the not-so-nice Prince Ronald.

So sit back and relax with concession goodies and watch as Princess Elizabeth journey!

SILO Movie Screening

March 18 – Whitemouth School – Whitemouth

Not a fan of plays? No problem! Stop in Whitemouth to catch the first Canadian movie screening of the feature film SILO. A drama/thriller inspired by true events. Open to everyone ages 11 and up. Students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Don’t expect to find SILO playing in theatres! SILO has a unique distribution strategy that not only makes screenings all the more special, but also brings communities together. It’s called SILO Community Screening Campaign, where any community can purchase the rights show SILO.

SILO follows a harrowing day in an American farm town. Disaster strikes when teenager Cody Rose is entrapped in a 50-foot-tall grain bin. When the corn turns to quicksand, family, neighbors and first responders must put aside their differences to rescue Cody from drowning in the crop that has sustained their community for generations.

Nature Detectives Preschool Programs

March 25 & April 29 – Birds Hill Provincial Park

Your kids will love Birds Hill Provincial Park’s Nature Detectives Preschool Programs! They’re a day filled with fun games, cool crafts, and lovely songs all the while learning about the animals and nature.

Egg-cited to Hatch – March 25

Your kids will spend the day learning about the lives of living creatures as they hatch out of their shells and what they need to survive. Later in the day, they will stroll along the Nimowin Trail, looking for signs of new life and experiencing the beauty of nature!

Metamorphic Critters – April 29

Your kids will uncover what happens to creatures after they hatch from an egg and what they turn into. After, they will try and discover any of the animals that they learned about earlier in the day along the Nimowin Trail.

These programs are fun-filled, educational, and gives your child the chance to experience something new and exciting!

Movie Madness – Spring Break Camp!

March 30 to April 3 – Zion Lutheran Church – Beausejour

Does your child dream of being a movie star? Well, now they can be! Head over to Beausejour for Movie Madness where your child works towards writing, directing, producing, filming and starring in a feature film that they helped create!

Not only do they have the chance to create a movie, but there will also be an opening night where they, and their families, can watch the finished product!

Spring into the Library

March 31 to April 2 – Lac du Bonnet Library – Lac du Bonnet

If your child love stories, crafts, and games, then they will love Lac du Bonnet Library’s Spring into the Library! This is a three day event where your child will learn new skills, test out cool crafts, and have a whole lot of fun!

On April 2, Margie’s Greenhouse will stop in and talk to the kids about flowers, plants, and gardens!
