Yoga with Fran is back to teach a 10-week session of her wildly popular yoga classes! Hatha Yoga refers to a set of physical poses (asanas) designed to align the muscles and bones and open the many energy channels of the body, especially the spine so that energy can flow freely. Hatha yoga is intended to create a balance of strength and flexibility in the body as well as a balance of effort and surrender in each pose. This style of yoga provides a great stretch and strengthens the body.
Each workshop in Movement as Medicine Series will move through restorative postures, somatic movement and breathing techniques that help create healthy patterns of movement. Targeting specific areas of the body for each workshop, you will work towards rebuilding the brain-muscle connection for lasting ease of chronic pain due to repetitive movement and/or injuries
Fitness instructor Kathy is back to teach one of her incredibly popular classes this fall – the 40/30/20 sessions.
This three-part class consists of 40 minutes of low impact aerobics, with a long gentle warm-up leading to more vigorous low impact movement to music, followed by a cool down to bring heart rates down gradually. This is followed by 30 minutes of resistance/core training to build strength and improve muscular endurance. Lightweights and a variety of small equipment are used during this part. Finally, 20 minutes of stretching and relaxation help to improve flexibility and mobility, with emphasis on breathing to relax and release tension.
The Fall Fair is a beloved memory from the earlier years and Pineridge Hollow is so excited to be bringing it back.
