Day 1

With countless freshwater lakes and world-class wilderness rivers, Eastern Manitoba serves up a smorgasbord of aquatic choices to hydrate your senses.  So pack up the kids and beach gear in the camper and head to the East Beaches of Lake Winnipeg.  There are many beaches to choose from including Grand Beach, Patricia Beach, Beaconia Beach, and Grand Marais.  Whatever you choose, all the amenities are available to make your stay in the area a pleasurable one.

Day 2

Next up, Grand Beach’s Annual International Sand Castle Building Contest on August long weekend.  Grand Beach is recognized as one of the top ten beaches in North America.  It’s known for miles of fine white sand and situated on the east shore of the massive Lake Winnipeg.  The sand dunes are always a hit with the kids.

Day 3

A tour of the Winnipeg River region wouldn’t be complete without a stop over in Beausejour for a tour of the Daylily Gardens, the only AHS (American Hemerocallis Society) display gardens on the prairies and the coldest AHS display garden in the world!  Now how’s that for hardy lilies?  While in Beausejour stop in at Le Beau Cafe & Fudgerie food made fresh daily.

Day 4

Next stop, Birds Hill Provincial Park.  Birds Hill Park is one of Manitoba’s most popular places to go horseback riding.  Explore the great outdoors with an awe inspiring view of the scenery.  Whether you need to release your inner cowgirl or just feel the wind on your face, enjoying trails on horseback is one of the most rewarding ways to experience nature.  Later on make a bon fire to roast marshmallows under the stars.
