Maison Goulet Glamping (St. Pierre Jolys)

What do you get when you pair together history and gorgeous accommodations? An amazing glamping experience, of course! The Maison Goulet is run and located by the Musee St. Pierre Museum Grounds, adjacent to the Joubert creek.

This experience brings historical roots home – literally – with overnight glamping in a traditional Métis home built sometime in the 1860s. This home, renovated as the family grew, was originally located 4 miles south of St. Pierre Jolys on the Rat River.

As a protected municipal heritage site, your glamping experience will be steeped in history and is perfectly situated for a relaxing getaway or accommodation option nestled in the trees. You will discover why the Maison Goulet was home to some of the original movers and shakers in the area.

The Maison Goulet can accommodate up to five people with cots in the central dining/living area. And don’t worry, you won’t get cold with the electrical baseboard inside the building.

Your basic amenities are provided like cookware, microwave, hotplate, BBQ, firepit, and a porta-potty; however, the Maison does not have running water. Potable drinking water will be supplied, and there is an outdoor tap. The only things you’ll have to bring are linens, dish towels, soap, cooking supplies, personal dishes, and personal gear.

Even your food services can be discounted at J’em Bistro! At J’em Bistro, you can enjoy meals made from scratch and a lot of love. From their mustards and vinaigrettes to soups and bread, pickles and jams, pastries and more, their menu items are served using either house-made, locally sourced or Canadian ingredients whenever available or possible.

Your journey starts with an evening dogsled ride, leading you to the doorstep of your enchanting overnight accommodations. The new winter wall tent is furnished with a 4-post Queen size bed, woodstove and loveseat. This is the perfect destination to relax, unwind, and enjoy the magic of winter in cozy comfort. This is an experience like no other in Manitoba.

The beginning of your experience will be similar to their two-hour package, Le “Vas-Vite” Experience, where you will get a warm welcome into “Adventure Headquarter” to meet their mushers and your dog team. You’ll spend time getting to know the dogs and learning about the sport before embarking on your sled to ride to your tent.

Once there, your bags will already have been delivered, and a warm fire will be burning. After a brief safety talk, your guide will leave you to make yourself comfortable for the evening. The next morning, a small continental breakfast will be delivered before your dog team arrives for your return back home.

Tamarack Shack & Tipi (Woodridge)

Make your glamping adventure an off-the-grid delight with the Tamarack Shack & Tipi. This unique glamping experience is surrounded by the peaceful Sandilands Provincial Forest, where you can be engulfed by beauty, nature, wildlife, and serenity.

The solar cabin comes complete with a wood stove, table and chairs, double bed, bunk beds and a futon – perfect for the whole family. Or stay the night in the hand-painted, eighteen-foot Bear Tipi, which is included with your stay. The tipi has a fire pit inside, where you will use the provided Oak and Popular wood and along with using the smoke flaps. Don’t worry; they provide a video showcasing how to use the flaps.

Onsite is an outdoor shower, sauna, BBQ with propane, picnic table, portable water, drinking water, tea towel, extra blankets, frying pans and pots, dishes, silverware, and French press. Don’t forget to bring a cooler with ice for your perishables, as there is no fridge onsite.
