Wilderness Safety & Survival Level 3

November 18 & 19 – Icsos Inc. – Alexander

Get a real taste of survival! Imagine building your own survival shelter, sitting around a crackling fire that you built, watching the stars, and sipping on hot wild rosehip tea. Those are only a few of the things you will do during Wilderness Safety & Survival Course. Spend two full days and one night in a beautiful wilderness setting, learning to survive. Definitely a weekend you won’t forget! So you think you have enough firewood to last the night?

Wilderness Advanced First Aid

November 19 to 21 – Icsos Inc. – Alexander

Wilderness Advanced First Aid is comprehensive medical training designed for remote professionals or wilderness leaders who venture into remote and challenging environments. Wilderness Medicine differs significantly from standard first aid courses and other training that are oriented toward urban environments. This course teaches how to manage medical emergencies when hospitals and rescue services may not be available for an extensive-time period. Students are prepared for emergency situations that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment.

Nature Detectives Preschool Programs

November 20 – Bird’s Hill Provincial Park

At Nature Detective Preschool Programs, enjoy fun games, crafts, songs and a healthy snack while learning more about the outdoors and discover the animals and plants that call Birds Hill Provincial Park their home.

On November 20, learn about the sleepy critters and why they sleep away the winter months. Come along for a guided walk on part of Nimowin Trail to look for cozy places for animals during the winter.

Land Navigation – Level 1

November 23 to 24 – Icsos Inc. – Alexander

Land Navigation Level 1 instills the foundation of knowledge necessary for Land Navigation. We will learn how to read and interpret Canadian Topographic Maps, effectively use a compass, and access the Global Positioning System (GPS) for verification and back-up of our skills.

Christmas in the Village

November 23 – Heartland Community Church – Landmark

Enjoy the day at Christmas in the Village with free yummy hot apple cider, hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and delicious refreshments while you shop – or simply come and enjoy a good sit and visit by the fireplace!
