We've got another busy week of things to do in Eastern Manitoba this week! Come on out and check out a few of these great events, or try out one of our great trails, paddling locations, fishing hot spots or great campgrounds. There is no shortage of excitement in the Eastman!

Catch the Tall Grass Prairie Fever!

June 1 to September 15
MB Tall Grass Prairie Preserve – Gardenton

Catch the tall grass prairie fever as former Manitoba Tall Grass Prairie Preserve Botanist, Laura Reeves, shares her passion for this endangered ecosystem with a walk around the Prairie Shore Trail (1 mile, easy terrain). Then marvel at the structural and creative beauty of Historic St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church while those dedicated to its preservation enlighten you with stories of years gone by. Feeling hungry? Local volunteers will be waiting for you at the Gardenton Museum with delicious home-made Ukrainian cuisine and an eagerness to share their memories and stories with you as you tour the Museum grounds and buildings. Schedule your tour June through September. Bus/group tours (min. 10 people).

Cycle Your Heart Out!

June 2
Red Rock Bible Camp – Rennie

Ride to raise funds for Red Rock Bible Camp at Cyclathon 49. We are raising funds to offset the summer camp program, help support our summer staff and provide financial assistance for campers. You can ride as an individual, family or group. Start in Steinbach, Landmark or the Halfway Point. You will be taken care of through snack stops, safety patrols and plenty of beverages and supporters along the route.

Mustseeum Season Opening!

June 3
Anola & District Museum – Anola

Join us from noon to 4 pm for an afternoon of old-fashioned fun at the Anola and District Museum Season Opening. Delicious food, sweet music, and shop at local vendors for unique items. There will be a silent auction, 50/50, a petting zoo, and for the first time-face painting! Also in our blacksmith shop, there will be a forging demonstration! It's always a fun afternoon for all ages, so we hope you can come this year to help us celebrate the museum Learn about “Lessons in Laundry”, the 2018 theme exhibit. This is one place you can air your dirty laundry.

The Museum is open Sunday afternoons end of May to early October.

Calling All Pet Owners!

June 3
St. Norbert Community Centre – St. Norbert

Come on out the 2018 Manitoba Pet Expo and see local animal rescues/shelters, advocacy groups, pet food companies, pet supply companies, pet service companies such as groomers, dog sitters, doggy daycare, veterinarians. Local crafters featuring pet-related merchandise will be attending. Food vendors and more will be available. Silent Auction, 50/50 Raffle and Wine Raffle on site!  Well behaved pets are permitted to attend on leash.
