Alright, folks, it's time to get your spring dancing shoes on and celebrate the long weekend with some of Manitoba's most talented musicians, The Robert Allan Wrigley Band. These guys know how to get a party started and get you up off your seat! Jam Rock, Bluegrass, Roots and Country music, Rob Wrigley is a songwriter, a song collector and a multi-instrumentalist (banjo/mandolin/electric and acoustic guitar). A musician for over 22 years he has been on a musical journey; writing about his experiences and exploring sounds through his influences such as Bill Monroe, Grateful Dead, Phish, and Widespread Panic, the Band, Little feet, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and much more.
Join guest speakers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada at Star Gazing. This is your chance to gaze at the stars and hear stories from the astronomers, all while looking through their high powered telescopes.Â
Be part of the end to the exploitation of Indigenous Women and Indigenous Sacred Sites on Mother Earth. We will hold1-day Ceremony and Red Dresses displayed at the Bannock Point Petroforms for 1 week (May 19 – 27) in the Whiteshell Park. Everyone is welcome to bring a Red Dress and participate in Ceremony.Â
Stroll into the past with the Park Interpreters along the historical Pine Ridge Trail and visit the Kudlowich homestead, the last remaining home in the park from the Pine Ridge Community. Hear the stories of how these resourceful families lived a prosperous life off the land with so little.
Located in beautiful Halliday Park, the Lac du Bonnet and District Museum is gearing up for another exciting year with its Open House. New 2018 exhibits include Lac du Bonnet's Hidden Gem Pinawa Generating Station, Anishinaabe Treaty 1 & 3, W. D. Halliday Lac du Bonnet Pioneer, Cherished Memories traveling trunk by Kaitlyn Mitchell, and Lac du Bonnet Swedes. You are invited to visit the museum and open the door to Lac du Bonnet's History, explore the collection, discover the past, experience the 2018 exhibits. Coffee & cookies will be served.
Grab your bike and helmet and join the Park Interpreters as we explore Birds Hill’s unique past during the Bike the Esker Guided Bike Tour. From glacial formations to people that once called this land home, to the diverse species of plants and animals that are found here today, discover Birds Hill in a way you’ve never known before.
