We have some of the most uniques events on the calendar this week in Eastern Manitoba. Challenge yourself to hit the Mud Hero Run, celebrate Buffalo Days, check out vintage classic cars and enter your kids into the Pedal Car races or head on out to race some frogs at the National Frog Jumping Championship.
Frog Follies is a unique, thriving festival includes a slo-pitch tournament, a parade and performances by local artists and much, much more. The highlight of the weekend is the famous frog jumping championship which draws crowds year after year.
Buffalo Days is a fun community festival celebrating the welcoming spirit of Buffalo Point and the local southeast borderland area. Great activities, games, and entertainment hosted for all ages including kids beach day, vintage car show & shine, cultural dancers, fireworks show, music, and much more!
This tiny village will be booming as the most exciting cultural festival in Sunrise Corner heats up with the Gardenton Ukrainian Festival. Sing or dance along with the Ukrainian performers; enjoy a delicious traditional Ukrainian meal; and learn about the lives of Manitoba’s Ukrainian settlers with guided tours of the museum. The festivities continue all night with an old-time Ukrainian dance, complete with a live band to polka and two-step your heart out to! It's definitely a festival to add to your bucket list!
6KM or 10KM, 18+Obstacles, 10,000 watt after-party – Mud Hero Manitoba has changed locations to Grunthal MX Park which is 50 minutes south of Winnipeg. The new location offers much more variety of hills, forests and water crossings making a more fun course. Change is good, and in this new location ROCKS! Mud Hero encourages spectators by providing easy, no-charge access and great vistas to view the course.
There is something for everyone at the Heritage Classic Car Show. Kids ages 3-10 can compete with their pedal-powered rides that have 3 or more wheels. We have a timed race which will also be monitored by the RCMP. Yes, they will have their radar gun out and they will be monitoring your little speed demons. Fastest time through the track wins per age group. We have candy bags for all participants and framed certificates for winners.
You don't have to be a local to take part in one of these great community events. Stop on in, try something new, and make some great friends!
