Forget cleaning the house for a seasonal gathering, instead grab everyone you know and head on out to one of these great Eastern Manitoba events! There’s a Christmas concert in Pinawa, snowshoeing adventure through the Whiteshell Provincial Park, storytelling events, breakfasts with Santa, a meeting with Mrs. Claus and even bird watching!
No time to bake? No worries! Check out the Christmas Bake Exchange in Beausejour. All proceeds go towards two great causes and you’ll have enough baking to make it through the holidays!
Come to listen and share a seasonal anecdote, story or song. Tasty Tales of Christmases: Past Present & Future will kick off the evening with local storyteller Mary Louise Chown but then she wants to hear from you!
Amero Little Christmas is a new take on a classic Christmas variety show. It falls somewhere between a Michael Bublé Christmas Special and Tom Jackson’s Huron Carole, giving the audience a modern take on an annual Christmas show. Between the witty banter, lots of laughs, heartfelt music and inspiring stories, Amero Little Christmas is an experience for the whole family. Don Amero is a three-time Juno nominee who is making his mark on the Canadian Country music scene and he’ll be touring this winter to bring his soulful country voice along with a few bandmates to ring in the holiday season.
The Christmas Bird Count for Kids is a fun bird watching event for kids and families. Join a Park interpreter to learn about winter birds in Manitoba and become a citizen scientist to count birds in the park. Our recorded data will be sent to eBird to be used in scientific research in North America. Afterwards, enjoy hot chocolate! REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Register online here.
Snowshoe along with a Park Interpreter as we trek to the scenic Pine Point Rapids. Along the way, discover what animals are doing to get ready for the winter ahead. Be sure to dress appropriately for this 5 km hike. At the rapids, we will warm up in the shelter with hot chocolate next to the wood stove. We’ll provide the snowshoes or bring your own.
