Wow, how time flies when you’re having fun in Eastern Manitoba! It’s hard to believe that this is the last week of summer vacations and holidays 🙁 We hope that you’ve enjoyed your summer and that you’ll take advantage of the little time left to head on out to some great events happening this week in Eastern Manitoba!
If you’ve ever wanted to contribute to a community masterpiece, now is your chance. From August 28 to August 31, join Mosaic Artist Ursula Neufeld and to help construct a new meeting spot along the Co-op Community Trail in Whitemouth at Mosaics in the Park. Drop in any time between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. between the WRA Baseball Diamonds and the Whitemouth School Track. This an open project and no skills or experience are necessary!
Nobody celebrates the 4P’s like Powerview-Pine Falls! Get on out and join in as multiple communities come together to celebrate Paper, Power, Peas, and Pickerel. Over the weekend you will find a free community BBQ and Pea Soup competition; chainsaw carving demonstrations, socials, show and shine, kids zone, beer gardens, a talent show, a family fishing derby, fish fry, legion dinner . . . but wait there’s more . . . slo-pitch tournament, 4 on 4 road hockey, gospel tent, fireworks, a meat draw, food vendors, parade, pea soup and bannock, Lego sculpture competition, live entertainment and, believe it or not, even more community greatness. This festival is so big, there’s a guidebook – but you can find out everything you need to know by visiting them online at the 4P Festival!
Get your team together and head out to Emerson to test your skills at Battle Beyond the Border II. Test your battle skills by competing in the archery competition, thrown weapon competitions, Battlegames, and more.
Lac du Bonnet & District Historical Society ‘s Annual Heritage Day celebration. A community family based event celebrating our Lac du Bonnet and District history. Indigenous peoples of the Americas, or first peoples, along with 26 plus nationalities through the years melded to form the village and RM of Lac du Bonnet. Heritage day at the museum celebrates and showcases our heritage. Museum Exhibits, Pioneer Demonstrations, Song, Dance, Children Activities, Vintage Cars, Outdoor Market and so much more.
Join Lori Zebiere at the Pioneer Village Museum, rain or shine, for a sketching session – Drawing from the Past. So much to be inspired by and choose from! If the weather is nice we can sketch the prairie town architecture, farm machinery and vehicles outdoors; if not so nice we can move indoors to one of the various buildings and draw objects from the museum’s extensive collection! Photographers also welcomed!!
Get your taste buds ready for fall suppers! Gardenton is kicking off the season of delicious home-cooked meals with their finest, home-made Ukrainian cuisine at the Garendton Fall Supper!
