Beausejour received its name from its founders who felt that it was “a beautiful place to rest”.  With historic sites such as the Glass Works site, some of which collections can be seen at the Manitoba Museum, showcasing the first western Canadian glass container factory, the Wally Chryplywy Nature Park, the Pioneer Village Museum re-creation of a small pioneer village and the Daylily Gardens which are recognized internationally as the coldest American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) display garden on the planet, and the only AHS display garden on the Canadian Prairies.  The St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church is adorned with  murals painted by artist Leo Mol, a Grotto, Stations of the Cross and picnic area.

Annual events include the Double B Rodeo and Ag Fair, held in September and the Canadian Power Toboggan Championship Races in March.  The CPTC races are the longest continually running snowmobile races in the world! The town boasts some of the best recreational facilities in Manitoba such as an outdoor pool, SunGro Centre, curling rink, baseball diamonds and the CPTC Raceplex.    Even with strong agricultural roots, this town aims to please the traveler to enjoy the unique attractions and events.  The area is also home to many of the Christmas Tree farms of Eastern Manitoba and hosts a Farmers’ Market in the summer.  Known for superb RV/Camping facilities along the Brokenhead River, tubers, kayakers, canoeist and fishers alike can be spotted on the river just East of town.
