Paddle at Caddy Lake

To venture into Caddy Lake, some experience in paddling would be best. With swift currents in the rock tunnels and choppy waves occurring at times . . . but it is definitely worth it!

This beautiful canoe route is lined with gorgeous mature trees and provides many opportunities to observe the diverse wildlife of Eastern Manitoba. Along the way, you’ll discover several private campsites that are on a first-come, first-serve basis. The campsites are the perfect place to stretch your legs, enjoy a picnic, have a getaway weekend, or getting up close to the breathtaking nature that will surround you.

Caddy Lake probably has one of the most interesting history. The two tunnels that are on this route are one of Manitoba’s best sights to be seen. These man-made tunnels were blasted through the solid granite rock when the railways were put in to allow the natural flow of water for the Whiteshell river system.
