With so many activities and festivals, you might feel overwhelmed by picking what events you want to go see. Eastman Tourism is making your decision a little easier by providing the top 5 awesome summer fairs and festivals you defiantly can’t miss.

Chickendaze

June 14, 15, 16 – Oakbank Community Recreation Arena –  Oakbank

Do you have a chicken and just don’t know what to do with it? Just kidding, but only sort of . . . To fully embrace this event you will need chickens. Chickendaze will provide the chickens for you to race. If chicken races aren’t really your thing, no worries; this event is full of fun activities like live music, vendors and kids performers like Al Simmons and the Teakle Family Circus.

Lac du Bonnet Canada Day Celebrations

June 28, 29 and 30 – Lac du Bonnet

What’s better than celebrating our beautiful Country’s birthday? Head over to Lac du Bonnet for their busiest and most exciting weekend. Enjoy the twists and turns of rides and delicious carnival food provided by Wonder Shows, and for those who love live music and beverages stop by the Beer Gardens. Gaze up to the night sky and experience the best rural fireworks show in Manitoba and so much more!

Bankside Music Festival

 

July 19 and 20 – Letellier

Bankside Music Festival is definitely a must see music festival. With the scenery filled with beautiful oak trees, large land perfect for the free camping available, and, best of all, rockin’ music that will make you party till the sun rises makes this festival so unique and fun. Even the band members mix and mingle with the crowd while off stage, so be prepared to ask for an autograph or two!

DIY Homesteader Festival

August 10 to 11 – Thalberg

Have you ever wondered how people use to live without electricity and technology? How did they make cheese at home? And heat their homestead? And preserve their can goods? Well, not only can your questions answered, but you can experience it first hand at DIY Homesteader Festival! Spend the weekend learning new skills and living like the good ol’ days. Enjoy their General Store Market. There’s even a DIY area for kids!

Kleefeld Honey Festival

August 30 to September 1 – Kleefeld

The Kleefeld Honey Festival is ready for another funfilled weekend of activities. With so many things going on, you won’t know where to start. Cuddle up and get cozy with a movie or two, then make sure to register or cheer on the racers for the 5km Kleefeld Honey Run – and maybe win some local honey too! Gather together on the streets to watch the parade go by. Walk over to the park and enjoy a delicious lunch, fun family games, wacky kids performers and so much more! At the end of the day watch the night sky to see one of the best fireworks show in the area.
