Machine de Cirque – Truck Stop

August 1

Enjoy this FREE family theatrical event! A motley group of campers in search of adventure and thrills decides to hitch up their trailer to set out on a journey across the American continent. With a well-stocked cooler, windows wide open and music blaring, they are all set for an epic odyssey on wheels. Salty air that fills the lungs, enshrouding forests, electrifying cities, breathtaking mountains and plains that stretch as far as the eye can see hold the promise of an unforgettable trip. Travel from east to west with five performers and a musician who will take you on a coast-to-coast trip in fifty minutes during Truck Stop: A Great Journey.

An Evening with Alexandra Ross

August 2
Tallgrass Prairie Interpretive Centre – Stuartburn

Join local artist Alexandra Ross for an evening of artistic creation at the Weston Family Tallgrass Prairie Interpretive Centre. Participants will make and take home their own unique nature-inspired art print. Alexandra Ross is a visual artist working primarily in ceramics, print, and photography. Alexandra is based in rural Manitoba and her art disrupts the constructed tensions between chaos and order; human and animal; sublime and mundane. Her work seeks to find the liminal space between these dichotomies and exposes areas where the line is blurred or reversed. Alexandra is currently completing her BFA at the University of Manitoba’s School of Art. This event will take place at The Weston Family Tallgrass Prairie Interpretive Centre at 7 p.m. All ages welcome. This event is family appropriate.
