A great place to live, work and play.  Located on the southeast basin of Lake Winnipeg, approximately 100 kms north east of Winnipeg from the East Beaches, along the Winnipeg River corridor, east to the Bird River area.

From the rugged characteristics of the Winnipeg River system to agricultural lands in the south to pristine beaches in the west, the Municipality of Alexander is a nature lover’s paradise.  Fishing, hunting, snowmobile trails, ATV trails, hiking, wildlife watching and some of the friendliest people in Manitoba will make your visit to Eastern Manitoba’s Little North a memorable experience any time of year.

The Rural Municipality of Alexander boasts some of the world’s greatest beaches along Lake Winnipeg like Albert Beach and Hillside Beach, along with many small communities like Great Falls, St. Georges, Stead, Lester Beach, Traverse Bay, Belair and the Bird River area.

Some local attractions that are a must to take part in are Summer Winds Music Festival, Winterfest and Muck Jam, 4P Festival, Fall Festival of Colours, the Crèche Festival, the Stead Ranch Steak House in Stead, and the Great Falls vintage bowling lanes to name a few.
