It's a rare quiet week this week in the Eastern Manitoba as we start to say goodbye to our fun winter activities and make way for the coming spring. Enjoy the serenity of this peaceful time and take part in one of the great events our partners and friends have planned this week.

Become a Nature Detective

March 21
Birds Hill Provincial Park, Birds Hill

Discover why some animals sleep during the day and are awake at night, and how they survive in the darkness. Come along on a guided walk on part of Nimowin Trail as we look for signs of animals that are awake during the night. Enjoy fun games, crafts, songs and a healthy snack while learning more about the outdoors and discover the animals and plants that call Birds Hill Park their home. The program takes place at the Interpretive Workshop, located at the end of Nimowin Road.

Get on Board with Community Tourism Planning

March 23
Sungro Centre, Beausejour

This training explores topics important to planning for tourism in the participant’s community and implementing actions that will help make tourism a success. It will guide them through the process of preparing a community tourism plan and help identify opportunities and challenges their community might face. It will also help them decide whether tourism has potential for their community. Our hope is to create a network of passionate and motivated individuals who see the potential of tourism as an economic sector in their region and the province at large. We hope that the workbook will be shared widely and used to provoke conversation and perhaps the catalyst for future tourism, economic and community development.

Say Hello to Spring

March 24
Great Falls Community Hall, Great Falls

The snow is melting and the first signs of spring are starting to pop up around us. Get into the spirit of things by checking out the Great Falls Spring Craft and Vendor Sale. All proceeds from this event are in support of the Great Falls Community Club in Great Falls and promises to have all your favorite crafters and direct sellers. Plus an awesome silent auction, door prize, delicious homemade canteen food and more.

Get Your Toe Tapping Shoes On

March 24
Beausejour Legion Branch #132, Beausejour

Enjoy an evening of toe-tapping to country and bluegrass music with a side of Jambalaya and Corn Bread at the Beausejour Legion Branch #132 Bluegrass Night. Tickets are $15.00 in advance and all members and guests are welcome.
