Oh boy! This week will be especially hard to decide what fun activities you and your friends and family will do. This week there will be tons of live music and festivals, yoga classes, park interpreters and so much more!

Richard Nadolsky Live!

August 14 – The Listening Room – Lac du Bonnet

Richard Nadolsky is a musical contrivance of the highest order. His music moves through him with a passion and drives like no other as if he himself becomes the instrument delivering song after song until his soul is empty and the audiences’ is filled up.

There is no genre to describe Nadolsky’s music. If we were to make one up, it would be Whimsical Manitobaman with a hint of True Grit and Hardcore Passion for the art.

Yoga in the Garden

August 15 – Beausejour Daylily Garden – Beausejour

Join Myrna for meditation and movement with this karma class in support of the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba. You will experience rejuvenating and renewing meditation and gentle yoga movements in the beautiful Daylily Gardens!

St. John’s Bazaar is a new indoor/outdoor marketing happening in Lac du Bonnet every other Friday night!

Do You Wanna Build a Glacier? Campfire Talk

Glaciation! Manitoba’s landscape would not look the same without it. Sit around the campfire and take part in a story of how this land was formed. Discover the life cycle of glaciers as they grow and shrink and move over thousands of years.

Rainbow Trout Music Festival 2019

August 16 to 18 – Beaudry Trail – St. Malo

Rainbow Trout Music Festival, one of Manitoba’s most loved and anticipated music festivals, returns this summer from Aug 16-18! Book it off work and rally the troops!

CWHA Show

August 17 – Grunthal

CWHA is an open club in every way. It is open to all horses, to all ages of people and to all riding abilities. CWHA has been the tie that binds the new horse lovers to old experienced ones. It is a family club where friendships are made so that each show has the feeling of a reunion.

The club promotes good horsemanship skills, proper show etiquette and good sportsmanship. Many of the more experienced members are more than willing to help out the less experienced riders at the shows. We try to sponsor clinics to allow members, both youth and adult, to learn new skills and build on their existing riding knowledge.

2019 Lac Du Bonnet Stroll for Liver

August 17 – Lac du Bonnet

Enjoy the day in Lac du Bonnet for their annual STROLL for LIVER, a fundraising walk dedicated to raising funds for lifesaving liver research. Enjoy a day filled with live music, face painting, activities and games for the entire family! Of course, a day in the sun is an excellent way for organizations, friends and families to get out and enjoy some fun and fitness!

The Main Street Exiles at Winnipeg Beach

August 17 – Winnipeg Beach

The world’s ultimate tribute to the Rolling Stones is coming to Winnipeg Beach! They will be doing a free outdoor concert on the bandstand! Enjoy a day at the beach and cap it off with an evening show right on the boardwalk.

Fang Fest – Family Program

August 17 – Whiteshell Provincial Park

Bats are one of the most amazing animals found in the Whiteshell but they need our help. Discover how important bats are with a Park Interpreter by building a bat box of your own to take home.

Bat Blitz Night Hike

August 17 – Birds Hill Provincial Park

Join the Interpreters and special guests from the University of Winnipeg Willis Bat Lab for an adventure into the world of these fascinating nocturnal creatures. Discover where they live, what they eat and how they’re being affected by white-nose syndrome.

Sunflower Expo – Experience the Magic!

August 17 – A Maze in Corn – St. Adolphe

Imagine 40 varieties of sunflowers over 8 acres with amazing photo opportunities. You can do just that at the Sunflower Expo! Enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer and a free sunflower to take home with you!

Geocaching

August 18 – Grand Beach Provincial Park

Manitoba Parks has hidden clues to a secret code! Using a GPS, figure out the code and win a prize in this high-tech scavenger hunt. You can use your own GPS device or smartphone, or use one of theirs!
