*Disclaimer* Time in nature has not been cancelled, but we must be responsible for helping everyone stay safe and healthy! Here are some guidelines to follow while exploring your community:

  • Stay home if you have been travelling or do not feel well. Here is an excellent resource if you are quarantined. This will help you find people in Manitoba who are willing and able to help you while quarantined. Help Next Door Manitoba
  • Go out with people within your household, but practice social distancing (2 metres away) with other groups.
  • Stay within your community. Please do not travel to other communities.
  • Please practice Leave No Trace. Clean up after yourself and leave nothing behind such as trash and waste.
  • Check with your local municipality if play structures in parks and schools are open.
  • Social distancing can be easier in rural communities because we live farther apart from each other. If you live in a condo or apartment, please follow the guidelines provided to you to ensure you keep your social distance from your neighbors.

Friendly Beausejour is one of the hottest communities in the Eastman. Only 46 km North-East of Winnipeg and the doorway to the Whiteshell, Beausejour has a multitude of outside community assets available, as well as their own community attractions, activities, and unique businesses.

The Beausejour Daylily Gardens is one of the many things to do in Beausejour. This unique site is a two-acre park with a variety of stunning plant-life like peonies, iris, and, of course, daylilies. The newest addition to the gardens is shrubs and fruit trees like haskaps, grapes, cherry, apricot, pear, and apple trees.

A cool little tidbit about the Daylily Gardens is that it is the only official American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) display garden on the Canadian prairies. Making the experience of visiting the gardens even more special as there is nothing else like it in the prairies!

The Daylily Gardens is the best spot for a peaceful, fun, and breathtaking couple of hours to recharge your energy and spend time with your family!

After a morning of viewing gorgeous wildlife and plant-life, you might be feeling a little peckish. Beausejour has many restaurants and diners that serve all kinds of yummy dishes that will fill you up!

Airliner Drive-In serves mouth-watering burgers, delicious wraps, a variety of side dishes, perogies, and hot dogs. With veggie, meat lover, and children options, the whole family will find something that they can’t resist to try! The best part is that all meat is 100% fresh and ingredients are all-natural, so you don’t have to question what you’re eating.

If burgers aren’t your thing, no worries! Colins’ House has a unique cuisine that doesn’t disappoint. With crispy things like beet and yam chips and russet fries, classic tacos, butter chicken, falafel salad, and much, much more, you get a classic taste with a wonderful twist.

Make sure to leave room for dessert. Stop by Le Beau Café & Fudgerie. Your mind will be blown with one bite of their fantastic fudge, and with over 300 flavours, your decision of what to try will not be easy. Their fudge is made in house and only with real ingredients, so you can get the most out of your tasty treat!

Most people think that a meal is complete with dessert, but it’s actually the drink. Finish your lunch with Pennyweight Market’s Pennycap, a cold brew coffee with vanilla soft ice-cream and a flavour shot to add your personal taste to it.

After your lunch, your next stop should be the Broken Beau Pioneer Village Museum, one of Beausejour’s must-see attractions. The site has many artifacts and historic buildings like a home, railway station, barbershop, blacksmith shop, school, community hall, and store, just to name a few. The museum site tells the story of the daily life of early pioneers and the struggles and hardships they faced with adapting to their new lifestyle and creating the town of Beausejour.

Beausejour also has some very cool shops to check out. Like Togs N Treasures, a thrift shop with exciting finds, ever-changing inventory, and a homey atmosphere. This secondhand store serves its community by re-directing funds back into the community of Beausejour to assist families in need.

Togs N Treasures is where you will find your next favourite book, the perfect new summer outfit, charming furniture that just has to be added to your home, and many other treasures! For more information, contact them by phone at 204-268-3815.

If you have been looking into a healthier lifestyle, then Spirit of the Boreal Botanicals is your next stop on your Beausejour trip! With a wide selection of locally harvested and wild-crafted herbs and medicinal mushrooms, you can find any of your health or lifestyle needs here – even for your pets.

Stop in and pick up your herbal needs, or even stop in to learn more about it. They also offer herbal consults.

Beausejour has many more things for you to discover and do. From the golf courses, ATVing trails, to the businesses that call this townhome, these are just the tip of the iceberg.
