Agassiz Provincial Forest (Lac du Bonnet)

Groomed and maintained by the Lac du Bonnet Cross Country Ski Club, Agassiz Provincial Forest is 10 km worth of fun! With gentle inclines and winds through rolling gravel ridges, mature and plantation forest with spruce bogs and poplar bluff, and plenty of wildlife to encounter, your adventure at Agassiz Provincial Forest will not be soon forgotten. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, you’ll fall in love with these trails!

Please note that logging of the Blue and Red trails started in fall 2020, so those trails no longer exist. Here is an up-to-date map of the trails.

And if you’re looking for ski rentals (or snowshoe rentals) in the area, visit Winnipeg River Recreation District. Their program, Borrow for Free, offers free rentals for ski and snowshoe equipment!

Grand Beach Provincial Park (Grand Beach)

Grand Beach Provincial Park offers some of the best cross country skiing opportunities! From the soothing scenery, the abundance of wildlife to the thrill of their more advanced trails, there’s something for everyone at Grand Beach!

All five designated routes begin and end at the same staging area. Each is rated for different skill levels: the Jack Pine (2.6 km) and Blueberry (3.2 km) trails are recommended for novices; intermediate skiers will enjoy the Boulder Hill (6.1 km) and Beaver Pond (13.3 km) trails; and expert skiers will find the Squirrel Run (2.6 km) challenging.
