SUMMARY:Wildfire Resilience Assistance Program - Application Deadline
DESCRIPTION:Travel Manitoba is inviting Manitoba tourism operators to apply for the Wildfire Resilience Assistance Program. This program offers support to remote tourism businesses to help them future-proof against wildfires. \nTravel Manitoba’s Wildfire Resilience Assistance Program supports fixed-roof accommodations and key facilities related to operations in remote\, high-risk wildfire areas of Manitoba\, including lodges and outfitters\, by helping tourism operators purchase heavily subsidized wildfire protection equipment or receive rebates for comparable value protection equipment purchased since April 1\, 2025. \nAll successful applicants will receive subsidies of up to 90% under the program (the total estimated value of each Value Protection Unit [VPU] is $ 7\,000 CAD) or rebates on comparable equipment purchased since April 1\, 2025. Each VPU kit\, compatible with the Manitoba Wildfire Service’s standard equipment\, will include sprinklers\, hoses\, a water pump\, and all necessary connections.   \nApplications close at noon (Central) on Friday\, March 20\, 2026; successful applicants will be notified on or before March 31\, 2026\, including if they will receive more than one kit.
