Tolstoi Country Cottage is a quaint vacation home located only one hour south of Winnipeg in the small friendly community of Tolstoi.  The cottage, originally built in the 1920’s by early settlers to the area, is located on a large lot surrounded by trees close to the centre of town and will provide you the opportunity to relax and enjoy rural living.  The cottage which is decorated with vintage collections throughout will bring you back in time.  It sleeps six and is outfitted with most of the conveniences of home.  Local wildlife like deer and wild turkeys pass by the property daily and many kinds of birds can be observed.  The cottage has a large deck where you can relax and watch the beautiful prairie sunsets.   The town is close to several protected Tall Grass Prairie Preserves which have walking trails where you may catch a glimpse of the endangered Prairie Fringed Orchid.  If you are looking for something a little more adventurous, you can put your canoe in the Roseau River a few kilometres north-east of Tolstoi.  The cottage is a great place to stay if you are attending any of the festivals or special events in the area or just visiting family and friends.
