The North Beaches of Lake Winnipeg consist of Lester, Belair, Hillside, Victoria and Albert Beaches and Traverse Bay. Most of the area is occupied by cottagers, although public swimming areas are available in most of these subdivisions.

The South Beaches of Lake Winnipeg consist of Patricia Beach, Beaconia Beach, Grand Marais and Grand Beach. Grand Marais is a small resort town with all the amenities needed to make your stay in the area a pleasurable one. Patricia Beach includes a natural sand beach, sand dunes. Parking areas are provided for visitors that come to take advantage of the swimming opportunities in a natural setting.

One of the top ten beaches in the North America, Grand Beach is known for miles of fine white sand and located on the east shore of the massive Lake Winnipeg.  It is frequented by thousands of people every summer.  Be sure to visit on August long weekend and take in the  Grand Beach International Sand Castle Building Contest.  From the Locomotive Kiosk, stroll along The Boardwalk and relive memories of a bygone era.  Interpretive signs with archival photos help you look into the twenties, thirties and forties – the Grand Old Days. Savour the past and present.

Birds Hill Provincial park – East and West beaches is one of Manitoba’s most popular beach getaways. Bring your barbeque, use the fire pit and cook your lunch or stop at the seasonal concession stand.

Located on the Winnipeg River, Pinawa Beach is a public beach equipped with a play structure, picnic shelter, volleyball court, and diving dock.

The vast and many beaches located in Whiteshell Provincial Park:  Betula Lake, Big Whitshell Lake, Brereton Lake, Caddy Lake, Dorothy Lake, Falcon Lake, McKenzie beach on West Hawk Lake, Nutimik Lake, Opapiskaw Campground, Otter Falls Campground,

Star Lake, Toniata Beach in Falcon Lake, West Hawk main beach, and White Lake.

With the miles and miles of waterways, there is no shortage of space for water activities at Lac du Bonnet Beach. Be sure to take in the town beach and pier. The beach has beautiful sand and play structures while families can watch from the grassed hillside.
